Sunday 21st September 2014

I’m expecting a high scoring day today with 2 or 3 of the five games finishing above the 2.5 goals mark. The first tip is Tottenham to beat West Brom and they are 1/2 with bet365 and Evertonto beat Crystal Palace also 1/2 with bet365

Don’t forget to follow my Betfair Trading Tips Twitter feed so follow me and keep up to date.

Saturday 20th September 2014

Just a couple of quick predictions this week; I’m thinking a narrow win for Leeds against Huddersfield and they are 17/10 with bet365

A great back/lay strategy today would be under 2.5 goals in the Burnley/Sunderland match and that is currently 1.71 at Betfair . Good luck and don’t forget to follow my Betfair Trading Tips Twitter feed for live tips.

Wednesday 3rd September 2014

OK, it’s the first tips from me for the 2014/2015 season and we’re concentrating on the England game, England friendlies at this time of year are notoriously bad. Players just trying to get into their stride for the new season for their clubs are not keen on getting stuck in.

Add to that the whole meaningless of the affair and you’re in stale draw city, that said I wouldn’t put it past England to lose, so it’s a case of lay England at 1.53 with Betfair and if you feel it won’t over expose you then go for under 2.5 goals at 2 (evens) for this one use a back lay strategy, whereby you’re looking to trade off this bet between 45-60 minutes or better. Use your judgement, if the game’s looking stale, then trade off later, if there’s a goal before 30 minutes, then you might have to half you’re green point and your stop loss.

I’ll be tweeting my position throughout the game, so you can stick with me if you’re unsure about what to do with the 2.5 goals, click the link to follow me on twitter

Saturday 12th April 2014

My word people, it’s 4 winning tips on the last 3 games in a row for me now, can I tip a 4th winning game this week? I’ll give it a damned good go!

Like on Tuesday night I’m going for a team that seem to have given up and are already mentally on their summer holidays. Newcastle have scored just 2 wins since they secured safety with a 3-1 win over West Ham way back in January. Today they face a Stoke side that are enjoying a good run of form and have only conceded 2 goals in their last 5 games. You can get Stoke at 21/20 with bet365

Tuesday 8th April 2014

I hope you followed my Manchester United tip at evens on Saturday, they romped home at 4-0. For the midweek game I’m looking at the Blackburn QPR game, Rangers are in a position whereby they can’t realistcally make automatic promotion or get knocked out of a play off spot and their recent performances have shown that. I would lay QPR at 3.6 with Betfair

Saturday 5th April 2014

I hope you followed my West Ham tip last week, this week I’m going with Manchester United win at evens with bet365

Monday 31st March 2014

Sam Allardyce was left scratching his head after being booed in a 2-1 win last week, let’s see if he can do the same this week Sunderland are struggling to score at the moment so I’m going with West Ham win at 14/5 with bet365

For the more cautious of you out there who feel that a hard scrap on Wearside on a Monday night may end up a draw, then perhaps the Asian Handicap, it’s actually a double asian, but bet365 seem to have renamed it; is for you, you can get West Ham at 0, 0.5 at just over evens.

Saturday 5th January 2013

Happy New Year to one and all, sorry but my day job has been keeping me away from the tipping of late, but back in the new year for a new start. Right it’s FA Cup 3rd round today a traditional day for upsets and I can see no better upset punt than Brighton to beat Newcastle. Unfortunately I’ve posted this a bit too late for that particular bet!

So let’s look at the next best upset chance, and that’s Crystal Palace to beat Stoke at 11/5 with bet365. Though you might want to consider the Stoke lay at 2.44 then depending on your strategy if Crystal Palace score the first goal you can either hold out or back Stoke at a much higher price.

Ipswich Town aren’t exactly Real Madrid, but their opponents Aston Villa are odds on, backing Villa in that situation is dicing with death; I’d much rather take advantage of their odds on status by laying Villa at 1.82 with Betfair

Saturday 17th November 2012

Mark Hughes look’s to be a dead man standing at Loftus Road, if QPR don’t win today it could spell the end for Hughes, get on the QPR v Southampton DRAW at 3.75 with Betfair The game also has a good chance to be a low scorer so backing 0-0 at 16 in order to lay off later should prove reasonably profitable by around half time.

Saturday 3rd November 2012

Norwich are building up a head of steam, having beaten Arsenal and Tottenham in their last 3 matches. Get on Norwich to beat Stoke at 8/5 with bet365.

For the Sunderland v Aston Villa game the 0-0 draw is priced low on at 9.8. The first half goal tally for these 2 teams is pretty low, so it leaves a good chance for backing 0-0 at 9.8 then at around or shortly after half-time lay 0-0 for what should be an OK profit if it drops below 4 by that time which it should.

The next one is a bit of a punt, but it definitely has some legs; Hereford Town meet Shrewsbury at home in the FA Cup this afternoon, Hereford have had a tough time of late, but maybe a visit from League One struggler’s Shrewsbury is just what they need. Get on Hereford to tame the Shrew at a generous 3/1 with bet365

Seeing as we’re talking Betfair today then if you want to be a bit more cautious on that one then you should lay Shrewsbury at 2.02 then if the home team get the first goal you’ll then have room to back Shrewsbury at a decent profit. Also this covers you for the Shrews popping in a late equaliser or just holding on for a draw.

I can’t resist one more punt and that’s for the Edgar Davids led Barnet to beat Oxford in the FA Cup at 11/5 with bet365

The last single tip for you today is a game of attack versus defence, in all the games that Crystal Palace have played in so far this season, there has been one clean sheet back on the 14th of September when they beat Charlton 1-0 at home, the remaining twelve games have had goals for both home and away teams.

Today they face a Blackburn Rovers side who have only conceded 3 in their last 6 games and have had 5 draws, with 4 of those being tight one alls and nil nils. Get on Blackburn to win this one, probably 1-0 at 17/10 with bet365.

Saturday 27th October 2012

Stoke and Sunderland are the draw specialists of the Premiership so far this season, though often when these match up happens the unexpected happens, get on Stoke at 10/11 with bet365.

Tuesday 23rd October 2012

We have a nice full lower league program to complement the Champions League tonight and first up in the Champs Leauge we have the wonderfully named BATE Borisov v Valencia. The Spaniards have been shaky away from home thus far this season, get on BATE at 11/4 with bet365.

Spartak Moscow have lost their last 3 games, 2 of them at home and one of those to Celtic at home, which is more painful than losing a pet cat. Get on Benfica at 6/4 with bet365.

Barnsley haven’t scored more than 1 goal in a home match this season and have only scored 2 in their last 4. Crystal Palace on the other hand have knocked in 9 goals in their last 4 but still boast a record of having conceded more away than they’ve scored and have only scored more than 1 goal in an away match once this season. Get on the Barnsley v Crystal Palace DRAW at 12/5 with bet365

After their early season form the Seasiders are now in free-fall down the Championship, poor old Brighton have only scored 1 goal in their last 4. Leicester City are protecting a 100% home record winning 5 and conceding just 2 goals in the process. Get on Leicester at 4/5 with bet365.

Cardiff have also got a 100% record at home and tonight they face the Hornets in what promises to be a cracking game, a possible high scorer which I believe Cardiff at 4/6 with bet365 will win the game.

Peterborough fans will point to the fact they’ve played 5 really good teams at home, hence they’ve lost their 5 home games unfortunately tonight they face the number one ranked away team in the division, get on Huddersfield Town at a decent 13/10 with bet365.

Bury and Hartlepool have been as woeful as each other this season in League One, at least Hartlepool have a win to their name though. Bury are better away than they are at home and Hartlepool are better at home than they are away. Bury will be going for it, but so will Hartlepool, I think this one is going to put the bore back in draw. Get on Bury v Hartlepool DRAW.

Next we have a bit of a punt Sheffield United have not lost this season at home, but have only won 2 games, drawing the remaining 4. Get on Walsall at 9/2 with bet365

Lastly in League Two get on Wimbledon to beat Bristol Rovers at 6/4 with bet365

Sarurday 20th October 2012

This afternoon in the English Premier League Fulham take on Aston Villa at home, the Villans have had a pretty awful start to the season and we don’t think it’s going to get any better against a Fulham team who’ve only conceded 2 goals in their 3 home games, scoring 9.

Get on Fulham at 8/11 with bet365. Manchester United have scored in all but one of their Premiership matches this season, today they face a resilient Stoke City, who have turned grinding out draws into a very ugly art form. Stoke City are very much the Susan Boyle of the Premiership, unsightly but surprisingly effective, get on the Manchester United v Stoke DRAW

West Brom face Manchester City and in 4 home games the Baggies have only let in 2 scoring 9, get on the West Brom v Manchester City DRAW

Southampton have got arguably three of their hardest away games out of the way in Arsenal, Everton and Manchester City. Today they face West Ham at Upton Park, get on Southampton at 10/3 with bet365.

Here’s a weird stat for you, Wigan have either scored 2 goals or none in their Premiership matches this season. Get on Wigan to beat Swansea (2-0) at a tasty 5/2 with bet365.

Sarurday 13th October 2012

Just the lower leagues today, looking first at League One we have the leaders Tranmere going up against Yeovil who have gone for it away from home so far this season. The south westerners have either won or lost on their travels scoring 10 and letting in 9. Get on Tranmere to win this possible high scorer at 8/13 with bet365.

Stevenage have been a bit of an enigma this season, fairing much better on their travels than at home, today they face a weak home team in Colchester United. Get on Stevenage for a narrow win at 11/8 with bet365.

Next two teams on the charge Sheffield United and Oldham Athletic are facing each other today both buzzing from back to back wins. Oldham scored five goals in those wins conceding none whilst United scored three and conceded one. On balance I think home advantage will balance out an early deficit for Sheff U get on the Sheffield United v Oldham DRAW at 11/4 with bet365.

Down to League Two now and Chesterfield undefeated at home, face Daggenham & Redbridge who are yet to win away from home. Get on Chesterfield at evens with bet365.

Sunday 7th October 2012

Manchester United haven’t had any league draws thus far winning 4 and losing 2 of their games, get on the Newcastle v Manchester United DRAW 11/4 with bet365.

Southampton and Fulham are the two other clubs who have not registered any draws in this season’s campaign, get on the Southampton v Fulham DRAW at 23/10 with bet365.

Saturday 6th October 2012

Swansea had a cracking start to their season with two solid wins scoring 8 and letting in none, however the wheels have fallen off somewhat and they have lost their last three games scoring none and conceeding at least 2 in each game.

Their opponents today Reading would have been buoyed by holding Newcastle to a draw last week, but Laudrup will want better defending from his team today. Usually when two leaky defences go up against each other it’s cue for a dull low scoring game, usually a draw. Get on the Swansea v Reading DRAW at 5/2 with bet365.

Also for Swansea v Reading go under 2.5 goals at evens with bet365

QPR haven’t scored more than one goal in any of their league matches so far this season whereas their opponents today West Brom haven’t conceded any home league goals this season, get on West Brom to edge past QPR at 3/4 withbet365

Down to the Championship now and the goals have dried up for Forest just as they’ve started flying in for Peterborough. Get on Peterborough at a mouthwatering 2/1 with bet365.

Tuesday 2nd October 2012

Manchester United often have shaky starts to the season, only to end well; get on CFR Cluj to win tonight at 5/1 with bet365. Or at the very least Lay Man United at 1.68 with Betfair.

Next go for the still unbeaten Juventus at 4/6 with bet365 to beat Shaktar.

Next in the Champion’s League we have two in form teams meeting tonight, go for the upset and back the BATE Borisov v Bayern Munich DRAW at 4/1 with bet365

We have a full English Football League program tonight and the first game that grab’s the attention is Brighton v Ipswich. Brighton were brought to a crashing halt in their 5 game unbeaten run by Birmingham last time out and Ipswich managed to stop the rot of 3 losses in a row. Get on Brighton to get back to winning ways they are 4/6 with bet365. You also might want to look at under 2.5 goals with this game, that’s evens with bet365.

Talking of goals Bristol City are the joint top scorers at home along with Blackpool, but they have also let in the most home goals, 11, in the division. One more away goal conceded than tonight’s opponents Millwall.

Get on Bristol City to do the business at 11/8 with bet365 and over 2.5 goals at 4/6 also with bet365 and if you’re watching in play and there’s an early goal you might want to lump on over 3.5 goals in-play. Or if you feel like backing over 3.5 goals from the off head over to Betfair and you’ll get odds of 2.9.

Peterborough are so far a better away team than home, which isn’t hard seeing as they’ve lost all four of their home games. They notched their first win of the season last week at Hull winning 3-1, this week get on the Barnsley v Peterborough DRAW at 14/5 with bet365.

Saturday 29th September 2012

There are two unwritten rules when Manchester United play Tottenham at Old Trafford and they are Howard Webb will always officiate and Manchester United will always win, even if Tottenham manage to score more goals than them, get on Manchester United at 8/15 with bet365.

A bottom of the table clash today against Norwich and Liverpool, Norwich just keep drawing any more of that and we’ll start calling them specialists, get on Norwich v Liverpool DRAW 11/4 with bet365.

A nice symetrical tie in the English Championship this afternoon Middlesbrough take on Leicester Boro have won their 3 home games and Leicester have lost their 3 away games all 2-1. However the last 4 games between these teams have been draws and Middlesbrough haven’t beaten Leicester home or away since 2002. Get on Middlesbrough v Leicester DRAW 23/10 with bet365.

Lastly Notts County look great value away from home against Sheffield United in League One, the Blades have only scored 4 in their last 3 home and away and let in 2 whereas County in the same period have scored 9 but let in 5. I’m tempted to go draw again here but instead I’d say take the value and get on Notts County at 11/4 with bet365

If you’re feeling a little wimpy then get on Notts County who are 1.775 on the Asian Handicap with bet365.

Wednesday 26th September 2012

The League Cup or the Capital One Cup as it’s now called can be a good competition to find upsets in, especially if you have a manager who traditionally doesn’t take the cup seriously, facing a smaller side away from home than his own. It’s not an exact science but it can help with a few betting decisions.

Mark Hughes’s Queen’s Park Rangers take on Reading tonight at Loftus Road, Hughes is a previous winner with Blackburn Rovers and would love to win it again with Rangers. Get on QPR at 4/5 with bet365

West Brom have had a cracking start at home this season, they are number one in the home form table, winning three games scoring six goals and letting in none. They face a beleaguered Liverpool side tonight, the team they beat 3-0 at the start of the season at the Hawthorns. Brendan Rodgers needs a win for Liverpool, but will still try out a load of youngsters.

Get on West Brom to repeat their early win against Liverpool at 17/10 with bet365

Norwich v Doncaster is an interesting tie, Doncaster have recently played 3 away games in a row, getting a win, draw and a loss, but only conceeding 3 goals. Norwich haven’t exactly set the world on fire of late but are 2 divisions above Doncaster; this could be a tight one.

First off I’d back the Norwich Doncaster under 2.5 goals at 27/20 with bet365 and backing Doncaster on Betfair at 7.6 could prove wise if they hold the 0-0 for a while or even take the lead.

Speaking of which backing the 0-0 at 20 also with Betfair will see you make a nice profit if they hold onto that for at least 25 minutes or up until half time, at which point you can lay it off at much smaller odds.

Saturday 22nd September 2012

Today in the Premiership and all down the leagues there are a lot of tight games and there may be a few cases for backing when a team is down then cashing out when they equalise. However for a straight bet Wigan v Fulham DRAW looks good at 23/10 with bet365., Fulham look ready to take their first away point.

The only other tie that really stands out for us this week is Hartlepool v Shrewsbury DRAW 9/4 with bet365..

Wednesday 19th September 2012

Hopefully you followed the LFG singles tips, if you did with an equal amount of money you would have ended up with around 55% profits. Proving once again, if you wan’t to make money betting on football online, keep it LFG.

Tonight sees some good home ties, but the odds do reflect that so don’t expect massive returns, that said Ipswich look good value tonight against Wolverhampton Wanderers. Ipswich haven’t won at home yet, but are scoring and not losing, whereas Wolves have lost both away ties and have only scored one goal.

Get on Ipswich at 6/5 with bet365.

Next up Leicester look a good home team this season with 2 wins from 2, Burnley look an awful away side, but exciting to watch as they’ve shipped a fair few goals home and away. Get on Leicester at 8/11 with bet365 and you might want to go a cheeky over 2.5 goals at 7/10 also with bet365.

The last game in the English League Championship tonight is Sheffield Wednesday v Huddersfield Town and Wednesday go into tonight’s tie defending a 100% home record. Get on Sheffield Wednesday at 10/11 with bet365.

Moving onto the Champions’ League fixtures, Chelsea play Juventus at Stamford Bridge tonight. Juventus say they signed Arsenal reject Niklas Bendtner after missing out on Arsenal hotshot Robin Van Persie, which is a little bit like buying a two wheeled rusty tricycle after missing out on a Ferrari F40. Get on Chelsea at 7/5 with bet365

The Sporting Braga v CFR Cluj DRAW looks good at 10/3 with bet365 or at the very least lay Sporting Braga at 1.52 with Betfair with a mind to back them should Cluj take the lead

Scottish football is in the doldrums at the moment, the national team couldn’t buy a win, Glasgow Rangers have been demoted to the lowest tier of Scottish football for financial irregularities and Glasgow Celtic haven’t managed to win at home yet. We can’t decide whether it’ll be Benfica or draw, which is usually a great case to lay, so lay Celtic at 3.75 on Betfair.

Remember you can then back Celtic for an all green book should Benfica take the lead, but I’d be tempted to let it ride.

Tuesday 18th September 2012

In the Championship tonight Blackpool play their first game at home since thrashing Ipswich 6-0 three weeks ago, they come up against a Middlesbrough side who haven’t yet won away. Get on Blackpool at 8/11 with bet365

Also in the Championship Crystal Palace had an awful start to the season with 3 straight defeats, they then replied with 2 straight wins. Tonight they host Nottingham Forest unbeaten away from home, but yet to find their first win. Get on the Crystal Palace v Nottingham Forest DRAW at 9/4 with bet365.

In the Champions’ League Malaga have shown great early form, while Zenit have had indifferent form of late, playing better away than home. Get on the Malaga v Zenit St Petersburg DRAW

Sunday 16th September 2012

If AVB doesn’t win today with THFC, they’ll take a dive and he’ll be picking up his P45. Get on Reading at 11/4 with bet365

Saturday 15th September 2012

Looking at today’s games in the Premiership we have Norwich playing host to West Ham, Norwich are looking for their first win of the season. Their last game out was against Tottenham at White Hart Lane where they secured a well earned 1-1 draw.

We’re backing Norwich at 7/5 with bet365.

Queen’s Park Rangers haven’t had the best of starts losing 5-0 on the opening day of the season, but today they come back home after 2 away ties in Norwich and Manchester. Expect a fight against the early league leaders Chelsea today. We’re going for QPR v Chelsea DRAW at 13/5 with bet365.

In the Championship today we’re looking at Barnsley at home to Blackpool, Barnsley have won both their home games this season, but haven’t scored more than one goal in their 4 games, you feel that they’ll need more than that to beat Blackpool.

Blackpool will want to bounce back after their away loss last week, so we’re going for the Barnsley v Blackpool DRAW at 13/5 with bet365.

Next we can see Nottingham Forest to inflict Birmingham’s third away league defeat of the season. They’re 11/10 with bet365.

MK Dons have won their last 3 home games against Yeovil in recent times and that’s why Yeovil are 4/1 with bet365, but we reckon that is value for an in-form Yeovil.

Apart from a home blip against Walsall Notts County haven’t let us down this season, which is why we’re glad to see them at 13/10 with bet365 away at Oldham today.

Tuesday 11th September 2012

Keen-eyed visitors to this site will notice that I don’t really tip international games. This is simply because I hate them, there is rarely value in them and form is difficult to read as the games are played so far apart.

That said, we have just had a bunch of games on Friday and there is a little value bet that I’ve done over the years and it often comes up trumps. Peru boast one of, if not the highest home grounds in international football, which is why they’ve beaten Brazil, Argentina and other teams there that would otherwise thrash them.

Get on Peru at 9/2 with bet365 to beat Argentina

Next one is a long shot, in fact it’s so long it’s a marathon bolted onto a triathlon with a trip to Mars thrown in. Back Italy v Malta 0-0 at 90 with Betfair. Hopefully Malta can hold out for about 15-20 minutes at which point you should be able to then lay Italy v Malta 0-0 for quite a healthy profit and an all green book. Of course if Italy score in the first 5 minutes you’ve lost, but at 90s just a £10 bet gives you loads of margin for error.

Scotland play Macedonia tonight and Macedonia don’t really do away wins, but what they do do is narrow defeats or draws, Scotland aren’t exactly a goal machine so I’d grab one or more bets on this one. The first is Scotland v Macedonia under 2.5 goals which is 4/7 with bet365.

Staying with the same game I’d be tempted to lay back the 0-0 so start off by backing Scotland v Macedonia 0-0 at 9 with Betfair and then laying Scotland v Macedonia 0-0 once the odds get to around 3 or 55 minutes, whichever comes first.

If you were to push me on a result for this game, I’d be torn between the narrow Scotland win or the draw, hence my earlier tips, but if you really need to put money on a result, I’d go Scotland v Macedonia DRAW at 12/5 with bet365.

Saturday 8th September 2012

The international fixtures this week and early next mean’s that we’ve only got lower league action for you this week. First up we’ve got Notts County at evens with bet365 they’re at home to Shrewsbury Town who’ve had an indifferent start to the season.

Next up the Milton Keynes Dons have had a solid start to the season with 2 wins and 2 draws, but the goals haven’t been flying in. They’re playing Walsall who’ll be desperate for a first home win, I’m not sure they’ll get it today, but reckon that the MK Dons lay at 2.28 with Betfair, then backing them after a Walsall goal or 70 minutes, whichever comes first. This might also be a good one to back the 0-0 at 10.5 also with Betfair, you should be on for a nice profit and an all green book by, or shortly after half-time.

Sheffield United are away at Scunthorpe today and whilst they’ve started strongly they aren’t scoring freely. Scunthorpe will be fighting for a first win of the season after losing 4 on the bounce and shipping 11 goals and scoring 1.

I can’t see past Sheffield United at 10/11 with bet365. However the 0-0 back at 15 with Betfair followed by a half-time or 60 minute lay will see you with a nice all green book.

Saturday 1st September 2012

Last time out we got Celtic, Dynamo Kiev lay and Cluj for a clean sweep. This week in the English Premiership we have West Bromwich Albion taking on Everton at home, both teams have started strongly, but I’m going for West Brom at a mouth watering 21/10 with bet365.

Next up Newcastle look pretty unmissable at 4/6 again with bet365. Next up we have our LFG star so far, that’s Blackpool who have come up trumps 3 times in a row this season and made us here at LFG very happy.

The last time we tipped them they came out 6-0 winners! Today they face the Foxes of Leicester City and Blackpool have won less than half of the games between the two sides in recent years. But with Leicester off form, at 21/10 with bet365 surely Blackpool represents the best value bet of the day.

Wednesday 29th August 2012

Celtic huffed and puffed the last time out against their Swedish opponents Helsingborg. But expect a slightly easier task this time around, Celtic are 1/2 with bet365

Next up Dynamo Kiev look good value at 4/5 also with bet365. Though they do have a big first away leg lead, so a draw or slim loss is not off the cards, so with that in mind you might want to lay Dynamo Kiev at 1.89 with Betfair and then back them after a Monchengladbach goal.

Cluj v Basel is a tie in the balance, Cluj won 2-1 at Basel last time out so they are in the driving seat. As they showed against Chelsea a few years ago, they are a strong home team, but Basel won’t go down without a fight. I can see Basel maybe even scoring first, but Cluj will come back and get at least the draw. If Basel are to win this one, I think they’ll have to score at least 3 and I reckon at least 4 to go through to the next round Get on Cluj at 7/4 with bet365.

Again this could be one to lay Cluj at 2.96 with Betfair hoping for the Basel goal to come some time before 60 minutes and then backing Cluj for an all green book.

Saturday 25th August 2012

The first match we’re taking a look at today is QPR, Norwich both teams are coming fresh from an opening day West London thrashing. I’d usually be tempted to take QPR at 2/1 as that seems like a value bet in a match like this.

However it’s hard to see past the QPR, Norwich DRAW 23/10 with bet365. It should be a cagey affair, with neither team wanting to end up embarrassed again and nervy defenders not wanting to make mistakes.

If you’re looking for value on this game via Betfair then I’d be looking to lay Norwich at 2.48 as a first away goal against nervy home defenders could be on the cards. Once the goal does go in a Norwich back will see you with an all green book.

Next we look at a rank outsider upset; West Bromwich Albion were the team that ultimately ended Andre Villas Boas’ career at Chelsea with a 1-0 win at the Hawthorns. West Brom have already shown that, with their new manager, former Chelsea number 2 Steve Clarke that they’re going to carry on surprising teams in the English Premier League.

AVB has yet to show for Tottenham, but White Hart Lane has been somewhat of a fortress of late, if he continues that the fans will love him, but woe betide him if he doesn’t. West Brom are 5/1 with bet365, which in my mind is great value.

At the very least Tottenham are worth a straight lay on Betfair at 1.62 which also represents great value.

In the English Championship, Blackpool have had a good strong early start and are showing early promise for promotion, they are a mouthwatering evens with bet365

Also in the Championship Crystal Palace are still looking for their first point of the season and that is exactly what LFG think’s they’ll get today a point against middle of the road Middlesbrough.

Middlesbrough Crystal Palace DRAW is a value 5/2 with bet365.

Lower Leagues

Looking down to League One and immediately we see one that perhaps the Bookies have missed, Tranmere Rovers are a stunning 19/10 with bet365 to beat Shrewsbury away. Tranmere have had a rocking start to the season with 3 goals in each game home and away, spreading those goals out nicely and only conceding one.

Next up Notts County look fairly nailed on to beat Walsall at home, they’re 4/6 with bet365.

A couple more look promising down there, but I’ll save those for the LFG Football Accumulator Tips

Thursday 23rd August 2012

If you’d followed the LFG tip yesterday you would have won! Find out how much in Diary Of A Football Trader

Tonight we’re going to tip something similar, Newcastle United are going to put out a much weakened team tonight, add to that they’re ring rusty I can see them winning but only after huffing and puffing and making heavy work of it. Though it is by no means a foregone and the odds reflect that Atromitos are favourites, how many more times will I have to say that this season?

So with that in mind I’m tempted to lay Newcastle as an Atromitos goal could happen within the hour. However I think I’m going to stick with laying back 0-0 at a measly 9.4 with Betfair

Don’t forget to follow us on Twitter for any updates and new bets that are happening too fast to post on here, but are perfect tweets!

Wednesday 22nd August 2012

If you followed our lay tip yesterday you would have lost that bet within 2 minutes! However if you were following us on Twitter, you would have recouped your money on Lille.

Tonight there are slim pickings around, in the English Championship Blackburn Rovers play Hull City and no matter which way I look at this I can see a low scoring draw or Blackburn to edge it.

So you could either take the draw which is 23/10 with bet365. Or you might want to try for the under 2.5 goals at shorter odds of 7/10 also with bet365.

Or maybe take a bit of a riskier route and back 1-1 with Betfair at 7.4

Or you could lay back the 0-0, that’s backing it first at 12.5 then laying it when it hits around 5 which if the game goes as it should, will be somewhere between half time and 55 minutes.

Tuesday Night European Special 21.08.12

Tonight sees giants of the European game fighting it out for the right to play in the Champions League proper. Giants such as Cluj, Basel and Helsingborg.

This stage of the competition often throws up surprises, think back to Young Boys v Tottenham and the shock 3-3 result.

Those surprises are often because a team who is less fancied has already started their season by 4 or 5 games, against a team that has played 1 or 2 games.

So tonight it’s a Betfair tip lay Celtic at 2.6 for around 60-70 minutes, backing them once they go 1-0 down or are struggling.

If you had taken LFG’s advice last night you would have got the lay on Man U at 2.02 and then later been able to back out at between 12.5 and 13.5 giving you an all green book. We made a profit of £38.90, find out how in Diary Of A Football Trader.

Monday Mayhem: 20.08.12

Monday night throws up an interesting fixture in the English Premier League, Everton versus Manchester united at Goodison Park

The arrival of Robin Van Persie from Arsenal is promising to make Sir Purple Nose a little less purple, however Man U are traditionally slow starters.

This one’s a bit of a risk, but could be quite a fun and lucrative bet, lay Manchester United in hope that either Everton go up or Man U struggle for 70 odd minutes. As you’ll then be able to back Man U for an all round profit.

The lay is 2.04 with Betfair

Opening Day Tips

Welcome back to the English football season! After the huge success of the London 2012 Olympics we’re gearing up for the new season with bags of enthusiasm and hot tips in order to make you money betting on football.

So far we’ve had the Community Shield between Chelsea, last season’s Champions League and FA Cup winners, versus Manchester City, last seasons English Premier league champions; otherwise known as the oil barons ball.

Before going into the game Man City had won their last 4 friendlies and Chelsea had lost theirs, so as you’d expect Man City were favourites for the game

As well as some lower league fixtures we’ve had the annual England new kit promotion; I mean friendly in which a Roy Hodgson inspired England took on the might of Italy’s C team and surprised us all by winning! Here at LFG the hot tip of the night was to lay England on Betfair, then when Italy scored we duly backed them for a green book.

Right then, let’s look ahead to this Saturday in the Premiership, first games are hard to predict and pre-season friendlies are about as reliable as a Robin Van Persie loyalty card. That said I expect a Van Persieless Arsenal to do what they do so well and that’s get off to a winning start against Sunderland at the Emirates they are 2/5 with bet365

Queen’s Park Rangers look good value at evens with bet365 As does the Newcastle Tottenham draw at 23/10 also with bet365

Lower down the fixture list we have Millwall to beat Blackpool at 8/5 with bet365 and Crystal Palace to beat Watford at 13/10 also with bet365
